29/30 Acharei-Kedoshim: Day 6 (Friday) | Rabbi Gabriel Cousens, MD and the Honest Weight Food Coop

7 Iyar 5786 AM | 1 AVE.

Blessed are You, LORD our God, King of the Universe, who has sanctified us by Your Spirit and invited the nations to share in the richness of Your Word. We thank You for the people and state of Israel, including the Messiah, our First Fruits, through whom the harvest of life has begun.

Today is the twentieth day of the Omer according to the minority Sadducean and Essene counts, which is 2 weeks and 6 days.

May the Spirit of Truth prepare my heart for the revelation of the 50th day.

7:05 AM EDT in Albany.

Jonathan Writes:

I am only halfway through Spirituality, Diet & the Essenes: My Deepest Interview with Dr. Gabriel Cousens, but I can already see that Rabbi Gabriel is a kindred Aquarian eccentric it will take some time for me to get to know.

I've avoided news leakage over the past 24 hours.

That's it for my background opening. It's 7:15 AM. My next step this morning is a scan of JNS. Responding briefly to the headlines, I am pleased to see the three-week ceasefire extension between Israel and Lebanon. At the same time, I can understand Ruthie Blum's warning not to mistake Beirut for a partner. There are doves and hawks on both sides of this ceasefire, and there is intelligence to both dove and hawk nature. I suppose my initial reaction to Ruthie is that we need to look beyond Beirut to see the ceasefire partner here in bigger terms. I don't know how best to describe that partner, but perhaps Mark Regev does. I'd be interested to hear his next discussion with Ruthie on Israel Undiplomatic.

Now it's 7:33 AM and the reading for this morning is Leviticus 19:33-20:7.

This is the link to the Daily Chumash with Rashi at Chabad.

The Daily Wisdom from the Lubavitcher Rebbe is titled "Honesty in Business."

Wow. It's 7:38 AM and my next step is to prepare some breakfast and go grocery shopping with my mom at the Honest Weight Food Coop.

The Rebbe has introduced a new "honest weight" angle for me to ponder as I make this week's food choices. Let's see how it lands tomorrow.

End 7:43 AM.

Shalom.
