We read in Exodus 29:1, "This is the ceremony you must follow when you consecrate Aaron and his sons to serve me as priests: Take a young bull and two rams with no defects." (NLT)

Could we reasonably argue today, based on Philo's interpretation, that the consecration of a rabbi involves the sublimation of the physical drives (the sacrifice of the bull), the purification of the intellect through Torah study (the sacrifice of the first ram), and training for group religious leadership (the sacrifice of the second ram)?
